COVID-19 case numbers dip for NSW, Victoria

Twenty-nine more Australians have died with COVID-19 in the last 24 hours across two states.

The state currently has 1632 people in hospital with the virus, with 62 of those undergoing intensive care treatment.

There are 449 people receiving hospital care across the state, with 35 in ICU and eight people are ventilated.

The total number of active cases in Victoria is 54,266.

This comes after close contact restrictions were dropped in both of the states yesterday.
