The Gypsy King has said this is going to be his last fight.

Do we believe him? He seems very content and comfortable with what he’s been saying all week, but with Tyson Fury nothing is ever quiet as it seems.

Fury has always said that his portly appearance has meant that people underestimate him, but Fury’s trainer SugarHill Steward said Fury told him that his “love handles” helped him absorb body shots – and they’ll definitely be coming his way in this fight, which is why they remain.

Despite not having the most svelte figure, Fury has repeatedly said, justifiably, that boxing isn’t a body building contest and despite his physique, Fury remains one of the best movers since Ali.

He has come into this fight lighter than he did in his last two contests against Deontay Wilder, weighing a solid 119kg hinting that movement is going to be key here too.

Here’s his vital stats.

  • Record: 31-0-1 (22KOs)
  • Height: 206cm
  • Reach: 216cm
  • Weight: 119kg

Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte, what do I need to know?

Those expecting fireworks this week have been left pretty disappointed after what was a very cordial meeting of the champion and challenger at both the final press conference and the weigh in.

Respect between the pair of fighters, who have worked together in the past before things got ugly on social media (and if that’s not a commentary for the times, I don’t know what is…) has been evident all week, and because it’s a Tyson Fury fight and you therefore can’t even begin to guess what’s going to happen, the two massive humans even spent time tickling each other on stage.

It’s been a wild week.

Despite the light-hearted pre-fight build up though, this is a serious fight between two serious contenders in the glamour division of the sport.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the fight between the Gypsy King and the Body Snatcher.
