Man allegedly kidnapped, assaulted and robbed in Westmead

Police are appealing for information after a man was allegedly kidnapped and assaulted in western Sydney last night.

Police said a 46-year-old man was walking along Church Avenue, Westmead at about 8.40pm yesterday when a white van pulled up beside him and two men got out and dragged him into the van.

He was allegedly assaulted with a wrench and kicked before his car keys, wallet and phone were taken from his pocket.

He was left on the side of Bruce Street, Merrylands.

Police were told a silver Honda CRV was on fire at the Bathurst Street Park, Greystanes at about 11.10pm.

It is believed to be the man’s vehicle.

The man was found by police on Bruce Street and treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for cuts and swelling to his face.

A crime scene was established in Greystanes and officers commenced an investigation.

Anyone with information or who has dashcam vision from the area is urged to contact police.
