Child critical after being left on central Queensland bus, Rockhampton

A young child is in a critical condition after being left on a bus in central Queensland.

Police confirmed the three year-old girl was left on a bus outside a Rockhampton early learning centre around 3.15 pm today.

It’s believed the child had been on the bus, parked in front of the childcare centre on Lucas Street, in Gracemere since 9.30am this morning.

She was found unconscious in the 28C degree heat.

The toddler was rushed to Rockhampton Hospital in a critical condition.

Police are investigating the incident and are currently interviewing staff at the centre.

Last year a three-year-old boy was found dead inside a bus outside a childcare centre in Cairns.

The driver involved was sentenced to six-years-in jail over the incident.
